At present, most air purification equipment such as air purifiers, air sterilizers, vehicle-mounted purifiers, and smart towel dispensers use filter technology. However, many people don't know much about the filter, and even some people don't know that the filter is a consumable and needs to be replaced regularly.
1. Filter composition
Let me briefly talk about the composition of the filter: the filter generally has three layers, which are coarse-effect filter, HEPA filter and activated carbon:
1. The coarse filter is generally non-woven fabric, metal wire mesh, nylon mesh, etc., which can only filter particle dust with a relatively large diameter;
2. HEPA (high efficiency filtration) filter, its standard is that the interception effect of particles of 0.1 and 0.3 microns (1 meter = one million microns) must reach 99.9%, and the HEPA filter grade can be G1-G4, H10-H14 , U15-u17, the most common in China is the H10-H14 HPA filter, because the indoor air is cyclically filtered, so the level of the filter effect will not be too different, and the higher the level, the greater the noise. Will be higher, HEPA filter is mainly used to adsorb particles;
3. Activated carbon. Activated carbon is used to adsorb pollutants in the gas. Columnar activated carbon and carbon cloth are available in the market. Columnar activated carbon is more mainstream.
Because the filter element is a consumable, it has a service life and needs to be replaced regularly. How long is the service life? How much does it cost to replace? This is determined according to the use situation, such as serious air pollution and frequent use, which will definitely directly affect the service life. The service life of the filter is generally written in the product description of each brand, and it basically ranges from 3 months to 18 months.
Second, the cost of the filter
The last part will talk about the cost of the filter element, so that everyone has a more intuitive understanding of the cost of filter element replacement. At present, there are dozens of cheap filter elements on the market, and thousands of expensive ones. We can't judge which filter element is good based on the price. We should look at it from two aspects:
1. The cost should be calculated based on the comparison of the entire filter element and the air purification equipment, rather than just looking at the price of the filter element. The cheaper the air purification equipment, the cheaper the filter element price will be relatively cheaper. I will give you two examples. Can explain the problem. For example, the filter element 200 and the air purification equipment 1600 are equivalent to 12.5% of the air purification equipment; for example the filter element 100 and the air purification equipment 500, the filter element is 20% of the air purification equipment; can you say that the filter element 100 is cheaper than the filter element 200 ?
2. In addition to the price, it also depends on the service life of the filter element; different brands and different models use filters of different materials, their service life will definitely be different; the service life of the filter element generally ranges from 3-18 months, if Just look at the price and not the service life, it will definitely directly affect the cost of purchasing air purification equipment. For example, who is more cost-effective to buy a 100-price filter element that is exchanged every 3 months or a 200-price filter element that is exchanged every 12 months? As long as you learn mathematics, you know that the latter is definitely cost-effective, because the 100-price filter element that is replaced every three months needs to be replaced 4 times a year, and the annual cost is 400.
Therefore, from the above two points, the cost of the filter should pay attention to the price ratio of the filter element and the air purification equipment, and the service life of the filter element. These two points are the core that really determines the cost of the filter element.
